Making space voor new culture.
Studio Locus was asked to support the design process for a new Cultural Community Center in Amsterdam South East for the organization de Kazerne. With our experience in architecture and community center functions and heritage, we helped de Kazerne to develop a manifesto and design rules for a new building, which is to be built in 2028.
This project is a collaboration between the Kazerne team, Bureau de Hamvraag and the Municipality of Amsterdam.
We made volumetric studies to help stakeholders to explore their programme requirements as a volume and series of experiences.
And developed a chat of aspirations that explored how the organisations ambitions could be integrated into the design and programming of a building.
